Grand Knight’s Report
By Shawn Searcy

Greetings, Brothers. Another spring and Easter approach, and I hope that this change of season finds you well. I am pleased to report that our Annual Polar Bear Barbeque was a great success, and I thank all who worked so diligently to put it together. Thank you, gentlemen, for all your efforts.

As I write, the club is preparing for its Annual St. Patrick’s Day gala. I hope you will be able to attend. It is strongly recommended that you make reservations. And shortly thereafter comes Easter, and the annual Good Friday Fish Dinner. Both are very popular events. I hope you will be able to enjoy them.

I have included in this edition of Compass Points a list of the organizations to whom we made contributions during 2015, and a total of the amounts that we donated. I am proud that we are able to help so many organizations, and wish we could do more. I take heart in knowing that the recipients of our donations are grateful for whatever assistance we can provide. I sometimes find it sad that there is so much need in our community.

In my opening paragraph, I mentioned that spring is approaching, and again this year we will be looking for volunteers to help with the community…

As I look back on 2015, I think of the many hours that our members have devoted to helping those in need, and I am proud of the work our Council has done.

Many of you are retired, and have observed that many of the causes that we have supported over the years are the same causes. That hasn’t changed, and the need for our assistance is not likely to change any time soon. Since before the birth of Christ, there have been those who are hungry and those in need of clothing….
